Mornings feature interactive lectures delving into biblical exposition (covering approximately nine Bible books) and major Christian doctrines (atonement, God’s sovereignty and free will), alongside an overview of the whole Bible in Year 1. The Teaching Practice sessions allow students to present Bible talks to a small group with a leader facilitating discussion, providing encouragement and constructive feedback. Students give talks from passages in Colossians and Mark in Year 1, and from books covering six genres in Year 2.
The final lecture of the day covers ministry convictions, practical skills, church history, apologetics, and leadership characteristics. For example:
- The meaning of prayerful ministry
- Evangelism
- How to understand and reach different cultures and backgrounds
- Case studies in Church Planting and Youth ministry
- Understanding false teaching
- Music ministry
Optional weekly Greek classes are available at the end of the day in Year 2.
